If I had to find a word to describe the Garden Party, I think “cost-effectiveness” would be quite fitting.
An 18-year-old girl can carry it, filled with textbooks and sparkling lip gloss. In your 28s, the bag might contain plenty of documents and a sandy-colored lipstick. At 38, there could be an umbrella and a transparent lip balm inside… If stored properly, 80 years later, it will still hold a not-too-light-not-too-heavy position in the closet. Isn’t this the definition of a classic? Whether in sportswear or a suit jacket, it suits both a 20-year-old and a 50-year-old wardrobe. It can carry yogurt and vegetables but also accommodate work and dreams. It belongs to youth and can also accompany people as they grow older.
If I’m still carrying it at 80, do you think it counts?
